12th Annual Sorenson Champions Challenge Ends with a few Surprises
Lehi, Utah – Oct. 13.

The 12th annual Sorenson Champions Challenge, hosted by Johnny Miller concluded with a few surprises. The tournament which features some of the PGA Tour’s greatest legends including Miller, Hale Irwin, Craig Stadler and others saw its winner come from the Long Drivers of America Tour.

Bobby Wilson and Jason Zuback carded a -12 under 59 to secure their second win at the Champions Challenge coming in one stroke ahead of the Ian Baker-Finch/Brett Quigley, Andy and Scott Miller and Rocco Mediate/Bradley Shaw teams.

Even as former champions the long drive specialists still were not considered favorites in a field that contained current PGA Tour players Mike Weir and Dean Wilson. But just like they did in 2005, the long drive specialists used some accurate chip shots and smooth putting as well as tremendous length off the tee to secure the trophy and the $50,000 first place check.

In perhaps an even bigger surprise, 78 year old golf legend Billy Casper sunk his 24th career hole-in-one during the tournament at the tournament’s par 3, 6th hole (the course’s 15th hole) with one smooth swing of his rescue club.

“I thought I pulled it too far left and would be off the green but it got on there and started rolling up and around the hole and then came back and fell in. I believe it took a little more than talent for that one to go in, said the event’s inaugural year champion Casper.
