Tournament History
The12th annual Sorenson Champions Challenge will be played at Thanksgiving Point Golf Club in Lehi, Utah, October 12 - 13, 2009.
Many of golf's greatest legends have participated, including Johnny Miller, Jack Nicklaus, Billy Casper, Sergio Garcia, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Annika Sorenstam, Fuzzy Zoeller, Hale Irwin, Mark O'Meara, David Duval, Tom Kite, John Daly, Raymond Floyd, Dave Stockton, Craig Stadler, Nancy Lopez, Mike Weir, Jim Furyk and local favorite Mike Reid. Celebrity golfers have included Bill Murray, Glenn Frey, Steve Young, Kenny G, LaVell Edwards, Danny Ainge, Dan Tyminski and Vince Gill, among others.
Format
Day one will be a pro-am tournament that matches each foursome with one professional, partner, or golfing celebrity in a team scramble format. The professional/celebrity and the partner switch foursomes after nine holes. On the following day, the Sorenson Champions Challenge is played by twosomes competing in a scramble format. All play is governed by USGA rules.

Venue
As the state’s premier golf destination, Thanksgiving Point Golf Course is a Johnny Miller Signature Golf Club located in Lehi, Utah. Ranked in the top ten new courses in the country by Golf Digest in 1997, it has been named the number one public golf club in Utah by Golf Digest and one of fifteen "hidden gems" in the country by Links Magazine. With 7,728 yards of pristine green covering more than 200 acres, Thanksgiving Point provides an ample challenge for our champions each year. The Clubhouse, one of the finest in Utah, boasts 22,000 square feet spread over three floors. The building houses a Pro Shop, restaurant and lounge facilities, and an upstairs banquet room. It’s most distinguishable and prominent feature is the top tower, which holds a clock 8 feet in diameter.
Parking
Parking will be available in the lots near the main Thanksgiving Point buildings. There will also be shuttle points near the parking areas to the Clubhouse.
